Our Team
Scott Penny
Scott got his start in the world of custom home building after a successful career as a real estate lawyer. When looking for ways to pay off some remaining law school debt, he offered to assist his dad, a seasoned builder, with a project when he quickly discovered a natural knack and passion for homebuilding. Soon after, Scott set off on his own, carrying on his family’s legacy of homebuilding while laying the foundation of what would become Cornerstone Custom Homes.
Keeping his finger on the pulse of the design world, Scott drives Cornerstone’s mission of creating modern yet timeless custom homes while always staying committed to bringing a welcoming, inclusive, and deeply personal home building experience to each and every Cornerstone client.
Katie Penny
With years of experience in the non-profit world and vast HR expertise, there is one thing Katie does exceptionally well: she knows people. This was the catalyst to her getting her real estate license, and launching Cornerstone Custom Homes into the company it is today — together as a partnership. Katie has a knack for meeting people where they are, and turning clients into friends.
As the first point of contact for prospective clients, Katie’s warm, caring personality is a hallmark of the Cornerstone experience. For prospective clients that go on to build with us, Katie often works with them to find that just right plot of land, and/or sell their current home, both offered as yet another way to help every Cornerstone client feel well taken care of, from beginning to end.
